Man charged with Christmas party attack on Solihull father

A MAN has been charged in connection with the assault which left a 52-year-old with a serious head injury.

Daniel Ward, aged 27 from Cock Hill Lane in Rubery, Birmingham, was charged last night (December 9) with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent on Solihull father, Dave Baker.

Mr Baker suffered a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain following the attack in the middle of the road outside O Bar in Broad Street, Birmingham, at around 3am on Sunday, December 6.

Refuse worker Mr Ward was remanded in custody and appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday, December 10.




He has been granted conditional bail and will appear at Birmingham Crown Court on April 13, 2016.

Four other men are currently on police bail and Mr Baker remains seriously ill in hospital.


Police are still appealling for witnesses and are urging anyone who saw what happened but have not yet come forward to contact them on 101.
