A MAN has been charged in connection with six carjackings in the space of a week in the Yardley area.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “It’s alleged the 34-year-old stole a Vauxhall Crossland from Kestrel Avenue just before 7pm on Tuesday, April 9 before trying to carjack a Hyundai Tucson in Fieldhouse Road and a VW Polo from the Swan Centre.

“And he’s accused of stealing a Nissan Qashqai in Croft Road just before 8pm on the same day.

“He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today (Thursday, April 18).”
