A SOLIHULL Community Housing (SCH) tenant has been evicted and banned from a Chelmsley Wood address which had been used for criminal activity.
Benjamin Bradbury has been handed a Closure Order from Birmingham Magistrates Court which prevents the tenant from entering his property.
Bradbury was arrested as a result of a Police investigation following a number of complaints and CCTV evidence.
A warrant was executed in June 2016 during which the Police found and seized stolen goods, class A and B drugs valued at £21,000 and a firearm.
SCH Chief Executive Fiona Hughes said: “As a responsible landlord we have a duty to ensure that our community is safe for all residents, therefore any form of illegal activity will not be tolerated in our properties.
“We are pleased to have received a closure order for this property and we are likely to seek a full possession.”
A Closure Order under section 80 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 means all persons are prohibited from remaining, returning and/or entering the premises for 3 months.
Where a property has been subject to a Closure Order there are grounds for mandatory possession, where the court must grant possession if applied.
