A MAN has been arrested after police seized a taser following a vehicle stop in Chelmsley Wood.
Officers from West Midlands Police’s Guardian Taskforce were patrolling around Tamar Drive, where a vehicle was stopped on Sunday (March 22).
Searches were carried out where a taser and a baseball bat were found.
They were seized and a 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
Police said further searches were carried out at his home address where a knuckle duster and a lock knife were found.
The man was further arrested for possession of offensive weapons.
The man remains in custody for questioning.
Project Guardian is a specialist taskforce which tackles knife crime and youth violence.
There is particular emphasis on reducing knife crime, through a range of tactics from plain-clothed operations to high visibility patrols and positive engagement with young people.
