Lyndon School musicians play infamous Cavern Club

BUDDING musicians followed in the footsteps of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Adele by playing at the Cavern Club.

After many weeks of rehearsing, Lyndon School groups Silver Alchemist and Revolution joined young people from across Solihull to perform on The Beatles Stage and The Live Lounge Stage.

Meanwhile, over the road, solo singers performed at Liverpool’s Cavern Pub – all hoping that, amongst the audience of peers, parents, carers and grandparents, there would be a talent scout.

During the trip, learners also had an opportunity to take in top sights including the Albert Docks and Beatles statue, and to find out more about the city – famous for the Fab Four and football, but also a heritage rich in trade, enterprise, culture and diversity.

Abbi Prentice, a music teacher at Lyndon School, said: β€œIt was incredible to watch our learners perform at this world-renowned venue, and lovely to hear their renewed enthusiasm for music, and ambition to start their own bands, following this inspirational experience.

“I am extremely proud of them all; and very grateful to all the families who made the long journey north to support them.”
