LOOK: Man who sparked violence after storming takeaway with two 'guns' jailed

THIS is the moment a man appearing to carry two firearms sparked violence in an Acocks Green takeaway.

Qassim Zafar, who has now been jailed for three years, was captured on CCTV carrying an imitation handgun and what appeared to be another firearm – which police say could also have been a decoy – as he entered I Love Pizza on Warwick Road.

Describing the incident, a West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “The 26-year-old sat down to speak to a group of other men before violence broke out and he started to punch one of them.

“All of the men fled – including Zafar – before officers arrived.

“One of the guns was recovered from a drain outside and found to be an imitation.

“Further enquiries – including detailed CCTV examination – were carried out at the shop leading to the arrest of Zafar, of nearby Douglas Road.”

He was convicted of possession of imitation firearms, having a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence and affray following a trial at Birmingham Crown Court.

He was jailed for three years last Friday (May 17).
