LOOK: Images released of suspect after 'terrifying' shotgun and knifepoint robbery at Co-op

IMAGES have been released of a suspect after a ‘terrifying’ armed robbery at a Co-op in which staff were threatened with a shotgun and a knife.

CCTV from Warwickshire Police shows the man – with potential connections to Acocks Green, Yardley and Chelmsley Wood – who is being sought over the incident.

The daylight robbery took place at the Co-op in New Street, Dordon, on February 6 at around 11am.

Another man, aged 38, from Acocks Green has already been arrested in connection with the incident along with a female from Birmingham.

Police have also seized a silver Peugeot vehicle believed to have been used in the robbery.

The suspects have since been released on conditional police bail pending further enquiries.

Cash and cigarettes are believed to have been stolen during the robbery. Nobody was injured and although staff were shaken, medical treatment was not required.

Detective inspector Paul Thompson from Warwickshire Police CID said earlier this month: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the staff in the store.

“Investigations are ongoing and we continue to appeal to the public for information that could help us to locate the second male suspect.

“We would therefore like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, who has any dash cam footage from the area at the time of the incident or saw the silver Peugeot in the surrounding area.”

Enquiries are ongoing and any witnesses or anyone who recognises the male in the CCTV image is please asked to contact DS 1678 Adam Clifford in Nuneaton CID on 101 quoting incident 132 of 6 February 2019. Information can also be provided anonymously by calling independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
