Last time to meet teachers at Solihull Sixth Form College before application deadline

Solihull Editorial 16th Dec, 2022   0

LEARNERS looking for post-16 courses have one final opportunity at an open evening to meet teachers at Solihull Sixth Form College.

The Widney Manor Road college is throwing open its doors to give prospective students and parents an idea of what it is like to study there on January 23.

From 5pm until 8pm teachers from across the curriculum will be on hand to talk about A level, BTEC and T level courses.

This includes the brand-new T level course in Education and Childcare, which is launching in September 2023.

At the Open Evening, the Principal Dr Martin Sullivan will be delivering talks to give learners and parents and carers an insight into the benefits of choosing Solihull Sixth Form College.

Support staff and the Student Council will be on hand to talk to visitors about the support services on offer, including careers guidance, academic coaching, additional learning support, application support, student welfare and financial help.

Representatives from five universities will also be present, providing an opportunity to discuss what Higher Education options are open to learners after they have completed their A level, BTEC or T Level studies.

Dr Sullivan said: “Visiting our campus is the best way for learners and carers to see what we offer and our style of learning, so I urge anyone who has not yet visited us to take advantage of this final open evening. The November open evening “sold out”, so booking early is advised.”

This event is the last chance for prospective students to get the expert advice of teachers before the application deadline on March 31.

The event is a ticket-only affair and all prospective learners must be accompanied by a parent, carer or other adult.
