KNOWLE and Dorridge Lions is inviting one and all to join them for the 24th Lions Festive Walk on December 27.

The annual event will start and finish at Baddesley Clinton National Trust property and there will be a choice of three new sign-posted circular routes – 3, 5 and 9 miles – all passing through the surrounding Warwickshire countryside using country lanes, public footpaths and canal towpaths with a pub along the way.

Last year’s festive event saw 1,800 walkers stepping out into the beautiful Warwickshire countryside and raising a record sum of over £9,00 on the day.

This year’s walk will be raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK, Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, Motor Neurone Disease Association as well as a variety of other local causes.

“We are very grateful to the National Trust who will be opening their car parks and facilities at Baddesley Clinton House an hour earlier this year in order that walkers can set out from 9am,” said organiser Lion Ute Smith.

“There will be free entry to both House and Gardens for everyone when they finish their Festive Walks and walkers are invited to join the Lions for hot mince pies and mulled wine.”
