YOUNGSTERS from Knowle Parish Church put their best foot forward as they made their way to Birmingham to raise funds.
More than 30 people raised £1,000 during the walkathon from Knowle to Birmingham and back in aid of two international projects being supported by the church.
Knowle Parish Church Youth are arranging a Moldova Mission Trip in partnership with Missiondirect to help support victims of trafficking, disabled children and their families.
In July the team of 15 people will help provide practical and emotional support to disadvantaged young people in a camp near the capital, Chisinau.
The Arden South Africa Trip team, made up of six sixth formers, will spend around four weeks in the country helping teachers in a struggling primary school which has classes of up to 60 children.
Paul Holden, Knowle Parish Church’s youth minister, said: “The walk to Birmingham and back was a challenge for everyone and took just under four hours for the walk in, followed by a five hour walk home.”
