Knowle Christmas Card shop open for business

Solihull Editorial 24th Oct, 2018   0

THE Midland Charities Association Christmas card shop in Knowle Library has opened its doors.

Now in its 24th year, the shop supports more than 23 human relief charities.

This year there will be a new card depicting Guild House at Christmas time painted by local artist Mike Humphreys.

The card has been commissioned by the Knowle Society for the benefit of Fisher House, which provides a ‘home from home’ for military patients and their families at the Birmingham Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The shop will also be selling the cards of a number of local charities, including Friends of Solihull Hospital and the Marie Curie hospice.

There are also advent calendars, wrapping paper and gift bags alongside gifts and stocking fillers.

The shop, which is staffed by a team of volunteers, raised almost £13,000 last year thanks to the support of its ‘many loyal customers’.

The shop will be open until Saturday, December 15 during normal library hours:

Monday, Tuesday and Friday – 10am to 5pm, Thursday – 10am to 6pm and Saturday – 10am to 3pm.
