A CHILDREN’S physiotherapy department were bowled over when it was handed a generous donation to boost its renovation work.

Ye Olde Knowle Bowling Club handed over £712 to the paediatric physiotherapy department at Heartlands Hospital from its annual Charity Cup competition.

The closely fought match saw three joint champions lift the trophy at the Grange Road club in Dorridge.

Club member and joint victor of the charity cup, nine-year-old Seb Blight, handed over the competition proceeds to the charity.

The funds will go towards a new outdoor play area at the hospital for outpatients to access their treatment in a fun and exciting way.

A member of the physiotherapy team said: “We know that there are a lot of choices when it comes to donations, and we are very grateful that you have chosen the children’s physiotherapy department, where it will make a positive impact.”
