KNOWLE and Dorridge Lions Club donated £1000 to the Lapworth Group of Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA).

The Lapworth Group runs weekly sessions throughout the school year for a group of eight children from Springfield House school.

In addition to the five ponies that the group hires for the children to ride they also provide lessons on Charley the mechanical horse.

Vice President Tony Gee said: “Our club raises money throughout the year by holding fundraising events such as the Knowle Fun Run and our annual Festive Walk.

“We have agreed to make a contribution from these funds of £1,000 towards the costs of purchasing new riding hates for the children this year and the hire of a mechanical horse for them to learn basic skills on.

“It was great to be able to cover this cost for 2023/4 with some additional funds towards the purchase of new riding hats for the children.”
