Knitted Christmas tree to take centre stage at Shirley Christmas Tree Festival

A KNITTED Christmas tree is set to take centre stage in Shirley this week.

The 20-foot tall creation will be on show at the Christmas tree festival at St James’ Church from today (Thursday, December 12) until Sunday, December 15.

There will be around 20 decorated trees on display at the Church Road church by community groups.

The festival will be open on:




Thursday, December 12, from 2pm until 5pm

Friday, December 13, from 11am until 8pm


Saturday, December 14, from 10am until 5pm

Sunday, December 15, from 1pm until 5pm.

There will also be a craft fair in the Church House from 10am until 2pm on Saturday and the festival will finish will a carol service on Sunday where visitors’ favourite tree will be announced.
