KIND-HEARTED donors have raised more than £1,000 in memory of a 17-year-old who dies in Marston Green.

He has been named locally as Reuben as a crowdfunder was set up in his memory.

West Midlands Police said a teenager was found with “life threatening injuries” on Station Road, at 6:20pm on October 28.

A boy, also 17, arrested by West Midlands Police on suspicion of murder, was later bailed.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up by non-profit A Common Bond, which supports families going through children’s services investigations.

The group was set up by Reuben’s mum and kind-hearted staff wanted to give something back.

They are hoping to raise £2.000 to help towards funeral costs.

In less than 24 hours the total raised more than half – £1,020 – had been raised.

On the page A Common Bond said: “We are an organisation founded by Reuben’s mum, we know she spends her time working to support others and we would like to offer that support back to help with time off work her other children and towards funeral costs. please help us to support her after such a tragic loss.”
