MAKE tracks for Malvern Park this Sunday, October 31 where visitors can catch the latest sports craze – Pickleball.
Already a sensation in the USA, some of the tennis courts will be commandeered for the demonstration with people invited to have a go.
Organiser Bob Tabb, a stalwart of the game in Bentley Heath, said the sport was ideal for the over 50s who ‘don’t want to move around so much’ and youngsters alike.
“It’s great fun – we started playing on a badminton court,” he said.
“You play with a hard bat, serve under arm there’s a plastic ball that bounces and just go from there.
“We’ve been playing outside in Bentley Heath for about 18 months.”
The demonstration is backed by Pickleball England and everyone is invited to go along and give it a go.
For those that are hooked, they play Pickleball join Bob at Bentley Heath village hall on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1pm to 3pm.
