Join Knowle and Dorridge Lions for the 25th festive walk

Solihull Editorial 8th Nov, 2017   0

KNOWLE and Dorridge Lions are inviting one and all to join them for the 25th Lions Festive Walk on December 27.

The annual event will start and finish at Baddesley Clinton National Trust property and this year there will be a choice of four sign-posted circular routes – 1.4, 3.9, 5.4 and 10.7 miles – all passing through the surrounding countryside using country lanes, public footpaths and canal towpaths with a pub along the way.

Last year’s festive event saw 2,500 walkers stepping out into the beautiful Warwickshire countryside and raising almost £14,000.

This year’s walk will be raising funds for the new Breast Cancer Haven in Solihull and Solihull and Birmingham Headway as well as a variety of other local causes.

Organiser, Lion James Dawes, said: “The walks from Baddesley Clinton National Trust House have become part of many families Christmas routines whatever the weather.

“We are also opening the registration earlier from 8:30 for those who want to do a morning walk and return home for lunch.

“After your walk you can visit Baddesley House and Gardens free and enjoy a mince pie and mulled wine.”
