SUMMER may be on it’s way out, but to celebrate National Fish & Chip Day residents and carers at a Shirley residential home received a double seaside treat.
Not only did they enjoy traditional fish and chips wrapped in food safe newspaper – but a special socially-distanced visit from Mr Yummy’s ice-cream van.
And Mr Yummy – Nazir Sagheer – kindly provided complimentary ice cream cones to all Fountains Care Home staff and residents, who loved choosing their ice creams, cones and toppings, including 99-year-old Florence Taylor, who did not to queue up for a ‘ninety-nine’ with flake – she went for an ice lolly instead!
