BIG HEARTED pupils and staff at St Patrick’s School in Earlswood held an animal fundraising day today to boost the coffers of Hollytrees Animal Sanctuary.
The team at Hollywood-based Hollytrees came to the rescue at the school a fortnight ago when a muntjac deer managed to get itself stuck in the school railings.
The sanctuary managed to free the deer and also give it a check up to make sure it was none the worse for its ordeal.
In recognition of the help the school decided to have an animal fundraising day, with the children all dressed up in animal costumes and bringing in donations for the cause.
They raised an amazing £232.55 for Hollytrees and were delighted to present them with a cheque to continue their work on Monday.
