Irish songs, fun and fundraising set to return for St Patrick's Day

IRISH song and craic will be back in Solihull to mark St Patrick’s Day.

David McGrath is set to return to Touchwood on Saturday (March 19) to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support and the humanitarian relief in Ukraine – the UK Disasters Emergency Committee.

The Meriden musician and vocalist will be playing and singing Irish songs to shoppers and the Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Ken Meeson, between noon and 3pm.

David said: “We missed seeing everyone last year due to the pandemic, but we are back to serenade the shoppers and do our own thing to try to help two vital causes.

“We’ll be having the craic and hinting at a buck if people are inclined.

“The main thing however is that we put a smile into people’s day.”

David started the charity fundraising celebration in 2016 to honour his father who died from Alzheimer’s  disease.
