All invited to Spiritualists' National Union Christmas lunch

MEMBERS of the public are being invited to the Spiritualists’ National Union (SNU) Christmas lunch.

The festive feast will start at 12pm on Christmas Day at the Higginson Centre in Yardley Wood and will see guests treated to a three-course Christmas meal with all the trimmings provided by members of the community.

Following dinner, traditional Christmas fun and festivities will keep guests entertained before the closing of the event at 4pm.

The SNU has teamed up with Age UK and A Cars to make the event possible.

A Cars has kindly volunteered to run the pick-up and drop-off service for all guests attending that cannot make their own way to the venue from their homes in the borough.

Andy Byng, chairman of the Higginson Centre, said: “We are delighted to open up our doors to the local community over Christmas this year.

“Although for many it’s a time of joy, fun and festive cheer – for those who live alone, Christmas can sometimes be a really lonely time of year especially if they don’t have family or friends close by.

“The SNU, along with the support of its partners and volunteers, is able to offer the people who want to the chance to celebrate with us.”

The centre is encouraging local businesses to get involved and donate small gifts for the guests or help with the costs of running the day.

If you would like to attend the Christmas lunch, contact 0121 251 4366 – spaces are limited.
