A TRIO of inspirational Solihull businesswomen have joined forces to help budding bakers and wannabe business owners start their own company.

Hayley Sheldon, who launched her business to help overcome her depression, has teamed up with Nicolette Lawson from the Happy Heart Cafe and award-winning trainer and breast cancer survivor Christina Bray.

Residents who have or who are thinking about launching a business of any kind have been invited to join a weekly business meeting dubbed Cyber Monday at the Happy Heart Cafe in Olton.

People will be able to have a cup of tea and exchange ideas and offer advice from everything on social networking to accounting.

Hayley, of Any Occasion Cakes, launched the scheme with the aim of helping people needing a bit of extra advise on running and launching a company.

Christina is also offering budding bakers the chance to learn all there is about cake baking by running courses.

Hayley, who started baking cakes nine years ago after suddenly losing her 54-year-old father to a heart attack, said she wanted to help people with all the little things she could have really done with having help with.

“Some people feel really nervous about taking the chance to set up and start a business but all it takes is a bit of courage and determination and anyone can do it.

“What really helped me in having the belief that I could set up a business was when I change my mind-set.”

Hayley said she suffered terrible depression so started baking to help climb out of her black hole.

“I now run a successful wedding cake company and have recently expanded and taken on self-employed staff to do the cakes I can’t do and enable me to concentrate on other things.

“I want to offer people the advice and guidance I didn’t get.”

The second member of the team, Nicolette Lawson is the owner of Happy Heart Cafe.

She launched her business in 2014 and as a hypnotherapist and treated a lot of people for weight issues, anxiety and depression and the need for more happiness.

Nicolette decided to create a happy, healthy place which would make people smile and satisfy a range of dietary issues – making her cafe the perfect meeting place.

The third and final member of the team is Christina who will be running the courses. Christina, who is eager to start training people after overcoming breast cancer and undergoing chemotherapy, cannot wait to get back in the classroom.

She is the prefect teacher winning second place in the national cupcake final at the NEC 2013.
