Images released of bikers from Take Back the Streets event

MORE images of bikers suspected of causing chaos on the roads during an illegal rally last summer have been released by West Midlands Police.

Officers have examined new CCTV and social media footage of the Take Back the Streets event on June 26 last year – and are now appealing for help in identifying six people the want to speak with in connection to the event.

The gathering saw bike louts obstruct main roads in Solihull and Birmingham, intimidate motorists, churn-up grass verges, and perform stunts like ‘donuts’ and wheelies in the road.

In December, up to 40 warrants were executed across the region during a three-day blitz on those suspected of causing a public nuisance, dangerous driving and other motoring offences.

It led to 28 arrests and 27 motorbikes including scramblers, pit bikes, mini motos, road bikes and quads being seized.

Sgt Adam Jobson, who led the arrest phase, said: “Those arrested remain on police bail, we are working closely with prosecutors to secure charges against them and illustrate that this type of behaviour is dangerous and won’t be tolerated.

“We believe these six men played a significant role in the disorder; we need to know who they are and I’m asking for anyone who recognises them to get in touch.

“Rallies like the one we saw last June are lawless, pure and simple, and we’ve vowed to take action against those responsible.”

Anyone with information should call 101 and quote Operation Wraithbane, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
