SURVIVORS of convicted breast surgeon Ian Paterson joined forces for cancer sufferers.
Former patients and family members raised £120 at The Greswolde Arms Hotel in Knowle at their World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillian Cancer Support.
Sarah Jane Downing, the founder of the support group for convicted former breast surgeon Ian Paterson’s private patients, hosted the event and welcomed Baroness Lorely Burt of Solihull.
She shared a message of support from Bishop Graham James, chair to the on-going Paterson inquiry.
The coffee morning was also a support meeting for the group, with over 40 survivors and their relatives in attendance.
David Rowland, the director of the Centre for Health in the Public Interest, spoke at the event about independent research into the issues concerning the myriad problems of patient safety in the private healthcare sector.
