THE SUN SHONE down on Knowle Fun Run over the weekend.

Serious runners, fun runners, mini runners and fancy dress runners came together for the 39th charity fundraiser organised by the Knowle and Dorridge Lions.

And the efforts of 1,200 of runners raised tho£20,000 for Age UK Solihull and Meningitis NOW – the best since before the Covid pandemic according to the Knowle and Dorridge Lions

Runners also raised funds for causes close to their hearts.

Adrian Harris, Fun Run lead, said “It was a great occasion and everyone, both runners and spectators, appeared to have a good time.

“We were blessed with good weather so the spectators at Arden were able to enjoy the day and enjoy a hot dog, burger and especially an ice cream.

“For the first year since Covid, it felt like a community event as the streets of Knowle were lined deep with supporters in a party mood.

“Many runners said how nice it was that so many turned out to cheer them around the route.”
