OVER 1,200 voices raised the roof at the Solihull’s inaugural Choir Festival.
Theatre Square was turned into a hub of harmony and joy as 40 choirs, including 450 school children from across the borough, came together to perform alongside community groups to professional ensembles.
Choirs included singers with additional needs, accessible staging and interpretation were integrated, and signed performances ensured that the event could be enjoyed by all. BRMB’s Luke Crawford was the energetic compere for the weekend.
Across the three days, audiences enjoyed everything from gospel and pop to classical and musical theatre, with free workshops, refreshments, and community sing alongs.
Festival founder and organiser, Anya Small said: “It was an incredibly moving and joyful experience to see so many people come together through music.
“The energy, diversity, and sense of community were overwhelming – it truly showed the power of song to unite and uplift.
“I am extremely grateful to our sponsors and my Choir Pop Voices for their fundraising efforts to make this event happen.
“I wanted to promote the health and wellbeing benefits to the wider community and we certainly demonstrated this throughout the festival.
“The event not only celebrated Solihull’s musical talent but laid the foundation for what is set to hopefully become a cherished annual tradition should funding applications be successful.”
