HUNDREDS flocked to Chelmsley Wood police station to take a peek into the work that goes into keeping the borough safe.
Officers were joined by colleagues from across the borough, including Solihull Safeguarding Children Partnership, Solihull Integrated Addiction Services and the Salvation Army.
West Midlands Fire Service were also on hand along with specialist departments across the force including traffic, firearms and our dog unit to welcome the 900 guests.
Local officers were on hand to talk about their roles, hosting games and activities whilst encouraging the next generation of officers and a host of new volunteers signed up to be part of the StreetWatch team.
Inspector Andy Bridgewater, Neighbourhood Policing Manager for Solihull North, said: “It was great to see so many local residents come together for a day of sunshine and fun.
“Neighbourhood policing is all about local people and local issues.
“Beyond the fun and games, the day was a perfect opportunity to talk about local issues and the work we’re doing to keep our people safe.
“Our communities are at the heart of everything we do and this is another way to make sure we stay connected and informed, helping to build public trust and confidence.”
