House-builder holding public consultation on proposals for new Solihull homes

A HOUSE-BUILDER is holding a planning consultation on their new proposals for a development in Shirley.

Taylor Wimpey is seeking views from residents for plans on the development on Dog Kennel Lane.

The proposed development, which will be known as Hares Croft, will deliver 732 sustainable new homes, 40 per cent will be affordable housing.

The site is part of a wider site allocated in the emerging Solihull Local Plan for 1,100 new homes.

Residents are invited to view and comment on the proposals online and at a community event being held at The Village Hotel on November 1st in advance of a full planning application being submitted to Solihull Council.

A spokesperson for Taylor Wimpey said: “We are looking forward to meeting the local community and hearing their views and suggestions for the site, which will help shape our proposals before we submit a full planning application.

“We want to create a high-quality landscape-led development, and it is hoped that the new country park will become a real asset for the local community.”

The public exhibition event will be held at The Village Hotel on November 1st from 2pm to 7:30pm.

Residents will also be able to view the proposals and leave feedback on the consultation website at https://www.taylorwimpey.co.uk/new-homes/solihull/hares-croft, with the public consultation running until 18th November 2022.
