A NEW chair of trustees has been welcomed at University Hospitals Birmingham Charity.
In his role Keith Bushnell will chair the other eight members on the board in having ultimate responsibility for everything that happens in the Charity and making sure patients, families and staff across UHB NHS Foundation Trust are given the help they need.
Keith said: “I am passionate about improving health outcomes and look forward to supporting UHB Charity in making a real difference to the Trust and its’ patients.”
Previously Keith worked in managing director and chief executive roles in healthcare services for 23 years before semi-retirement in 2021, including providing NHS out of hours GP services.
He remains a non-executive director and chair of the Audit Committee of a rehabilitation and treatment provider where he was chief executive for 12 years and is also non-executive chair of a social care provider for adults with physical and/or learning disabilities.
Keith is also a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified.
Charity chief executive, Mike Hammond said, “We would like to thank former chair, Dave Mackay for his dedication over the past few years and glad that he stays on as a valued member of the board.
“Keith brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise that will hugely benefit the Charity and help us deliver on our mission to go ‘Over and Above’ what the NHS can provide.
“We look forward to working with our new Chair to help us continue providing vital support to our patients, their families and staff.”
