A HOME support service to help older people live independently has changed hands.
Caremark Solihull will be taking on the delivery of Age UK Solihull’s Home Support Service, ensuring that older people in the borough continue to receive practical help to live independently at home.
The Home Support Service currently helps around 150 Solihull residents each year with day-to-day tasks such as shopping, light housework, companionship, and outings.
For many, it is a lifeline that enables them to stay connected to their community and live safely at home.
By transferring the service to Caremark Solihull, a home care provider, Age UK Solihull says it is ensuring the long-term sustainability of this much-needed support.
Caremark says it will retain the same dedicated staff, so clients can expect continuity of care with the added benefit of Caremark’s expertise and resources in the home care sector.
Anne Hastings, chief executive of Age UK Solihull, said: “Our priority has always been to make sure older people in Solihull have the support they need to live well and independently.
“Transferring our Home Support Service to Caremark Solihull means this service will not only continue but has the potential to grow and reach even more people.”
Herkesh Malhi, owner of Caremark Solihull, added: “We are honoured to be entrusted with Age UK Solihull’s Home Support Service as their ‘Trusted Provider’.
“Our goal is to build on the fantastic work that has already been done and to ensure every client feels safe, supported, and valued. We are committed to keeping the personal, friendly touch that makes this service so special.”
