A HOCKLEY HEATH dancer is set to star as a cygnet Swan Lake next month.
Catherine, who attends Dreamers Dance Academy and Lisayne Ballet in School, has been rehearsing with professionals and other youngster at the English Youth Ballet (EYB).
The nine-year-old will take to The New Theatre stage in Oxford on June 16 and 17 alongside EYB principals – Lyndsey Fraser and Joshua Webb.
Catherine gained a place at EYB following a stage audition which saw around 200 others take part.
The Tudor Grange Primary School pupil said: “Swan Lake is my favourite ballet. I have seen it three times, and was particulalry inspired by the beautiful Birmingham Royal Ballet production earlier in the year.
“I can’t explain how excited I am to be a cygnet in EYB’s show next month.
“At EYB, we have very long rehearsal days, and I love every second of it.
“I am doing what I love, with amazing teachers and fantastic dancers.
“I was thrilled to win a scholarship to take part in this production. Ballet is my whole world.”
