CELEBRATIONS were in order as players, ex-players and loved ones marked Hockley Heath Cricket Club 150th anniversary.
Memories of games and times gone by were exchanged at Hockley House, formerly The Royal Oak where more than 50 people came together over a three-course meal.
Club legend Terry Wright was master of Ceremonies for the evening.
Having welcomed the guests he read a poem about the bell of the village church, St Thomas, written by the late Bert Oakley, the only man ever to take all ten wickets in an innings for Hockley Heath and he achieved this feat on two separate occasions.
Club captain Chris Freeman presented the batting and bowling awards for the past season to Billy Elwart and Imran Ali.
Club chairman Richard King announced the Hockley Heath Club will return to its spiritual home, the ground at Grove Lane in 2025.
The event was organised by Gloria Stidworthy and Jo Reynolds and they were presented with flowers as a mark of appreciation by all who attended.
