Hockley Heath Cricket Club 150th anniversary continues with painting donation

Solihull Editorial 2nd Oct, 2024   0

THE 150 anniversary celebrations continued at Hockley Heath Cricket Club thanks to an artist who has donated a painting.

Rain Stopped Play, 150 Not Out by Jim Griffith shows the Grove Lane cricket ground – the home of the club, which formed in 1874.

The ground and facilities on Grove Lane were created over a five-year period in the early 1980’s. It was Hockley Heath Cricket Club’s home ground until 2008 when the club amalgamated with Dorridge C.C.

In 2020 HHCC was reformed and, after a five-year period of playing mainly nomadic cricket, the Club will be returning to Grove Lane to play on Sunday’s next season.

The painting will be the subject of a raffle prize.

Limited edition prints of the painting can be obtained from Jim at [email protected] or by phone on 07749 570653.

Anyone wishing to play for the Club or serve in an administrative capacity contact Dave Bullivant at [email protected].
