HOCKLEY Heath Academy proved it was a cut above the rest when it was handed a prestigious award.
The school was handed the Outstanding Primary School in the first ever Midlands Education Awards.
After being chosen as winners from a long list of 41 nominated schools from across the region, the school will now get the chance to work with the Peter Jones Foundation as part of the Tycoon in Schools programme aimed at encouraging the development of young entrepreneurs.
Principal of Hockley Heath Academy, Roulla Gabriel said: “We were so taken aback to find out the school had been nominated and it was thrilling to go on to win the award.
“I am so proud of the school and our fantastic children and staff.
“We have worked so hard with families, our Governing Body and the wider community to create a warm and welcoming environment where children feel happy and have a desire to learn and achieve.
“It is this successful teamwork that makes our school so special.”
