A MAN who died in a hit-and-run crash has been named as Paul Donaldson.

The 42-year-old, from Chelmsley Wood, was injured in the early hours of September 25 on Lawley Middleway between Ashted Circus and Curzon Circle around 2.30am.

An appeal had previously been launched to identify the man who was taken to hospital, but sadly died as a result of his injuries later the same day.

A 29-year-old man, the driver of a Vauxhall Vectra, arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop remains on police bail while the investigation continues.

The driver of a Fiat Panda, a 78-year-old man, arrested at the scene for drink driving also remains on bail.

Officers from the regional Collision Investigation Unit continue to appeal for witnesses to call them on 101 to help them establish the circumstances of the collision.
