SHIRLEY-based Highgate United is one of three non-league West Midlands football clubs to have entered a £100,000 Buildbase competition to refurbish their facilities.
In all, ten prizes of £10,000 worth of building materials are up for grabs through the firm’s renovation bursary contest.
The club is up against teams like Cradley Town FC, which is looking to upgrade its kitchen facilities and Walsall Wood Community FC, which is hoping to refurbish its changing rooms.
Highgate also wants to improve its changing facilities and toilets, adding smaller rooms for the junior team in a drive to enhance its position in the community and attracting more local youngsters to join the fun.
Judges from Buildbase and the FA will select nine winners based on how clubs’ refurbishment plans will have a positive impact on both the club and community.
One club will become a winner based on votes submitted by local fans through the Buildbase website when voting opens in early February 2022.
The Buildbase Non-league Club Renovation programme is open to all clubs taking part in the Buildbase FA Trophy and Vase competitions.
Clubs have until January 31, 2022 to apply online at Buildbase.co.uk.
