Helping hand for homeless at free drop-in event today in Chelmsley Wood

Solihull Editorial 10th Oct, 2023   0

HELP is at hand for homeless people and those at risk of being homeless in Solihull today (October 10).

To mark World Homeless Day today Solihull Council is holding a free drop-in session at the Three Trees Community Centre on Hedingham Grove in Chelmsley Wood.

From 10:30am until 2:30pm people can find out what support is out there for them and build up their networks and knowledge.

Councillor Mark Parker, Cabinet Member for Housing, said: “As we mark this World Homeless Day in Solihull, I hope that those who need support are able to come along to the Three Trees and make initial contact with those services that can provide them with help and advice.

“As always, I would ask that people continue to report anyone who they think is sleeping rough to StreetLink, the national reporting system. This information is vital for our outreach team and ensures that we can find the people that need our help. Let’s continue to work together to help homeless people.”

Anyone who sees someone sleeping rough, should contact StreetLink here, who will notify the Solihull Outreach Team.

For emergency temporary accommodation please contact Solihull Community Housing on 0121 717 1515 (24/7).

If you think someone is in immediate danger always call 999.

Residents can also donate to Change into Action Solihull which works with Solihull Council to provide additional support here.
