Help available for school leavers' decisions

Solihull Editorial 21st Aug, 2020   0

EXAM results for school leavers in Solihull will have many young people making decisions about their future.

To help advise school leavers, Solihull Council has said it can help choose their best path.

Young people in Solihull can get help from the Solihull Youth Promise Plus Team, who will talk them through the opportunities that are out there; increasing their chances of getting that dream job. Anyone who is age 16 or over, or their parents, can get in contact at any time to see what support is available.

The team helps people of all ages to find work, or higher and further education opportunities.

Young people in particular can benefit from finding out more about traineeships and apprenticeships and the superb career prospects that they offer.

Solihull Cabinet Member for children’s services, Coun Ken Meeson said: “I hope that young people who have worked so hard preparing for their exams will receive results that reflect those efforts; despite the difficult circumstances we have faced this year. I wish everyone who has received results the very best for the future.

“A university education is a wonderful next step for many of our students but for those who are immediately interested in the world of work, we can pinpoint you to both vocational and apprenticeship opportunities.”
