Hearing first hand about Roddy

AUTHOR Sarah Bates paid a visit to Dickens Heath Primary School to read her new book to pupils.

The 40-year-old yoga teacher used a lifetime of travelling the globe – and the memories of her beloved cat Roddy – to create The mazing Adventures of Roddy the Magic Cat.

We featured her in the paper a few weeks ago, asking for people to vote for her in a writing competition to help her secure a publishing deal.

Sarah needed 250 pre-orders of her book to ensure it is published.

And she reached that target just a few days after her visit to the school.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who ordered the book and helped me secure the publishing deal,” said Sarah, who has seven books planned which will take Roddy the Magic Cat to all of the continents of the world.

The book is available to order at the publishing company’s website – www.britainsnextbestseller.co.uk – at a price of £6.99.
