TAXI and private hire drivers are being called on to have their say on Solihull’s new taxi and private hire licensing policy.
Solihull Council has set out plans to adapt guidance to applicants and existing licence holders, the suitability guidelines to determine fitness and suitability and conditions attached to any licence granted.
The Council said: “The Department for Transport’s Statutory taxi and private hire vehicle standards were published in July 2020 (updated November 2022) and we have previously taken steps to reflect a number of these priorities.
“More recently, in November 2023, the government published the latest version of the Taxi and private hire vehicle licensing: best practice.
“Both documents have been considered in reviewing the policy, with a series of proposals made.”
The survey is open August 3.
