RESIDENTS are being called to have their say on plans to build 270 new homes in Balsall Common.
Developer Barwood Land has launched a public consultation on proposals for Pheasant Oak Farm, south of Waste Lane within the boundary of Berkswell Parish Council.
Barwood Land say the development includes a range of properties for first time buyers and families looking for larger homes, and it will include 40 per cent affordable homes
It added the site, which is allocated for housing in the new Solihull Local Plan and has recently been endorsed by independent Planning Inspectors, is designed to meet the housing needs of the local community while enhancing the character and beauty of the area.
Rebecca Mitchell, the planning director at Barwood Land, said: “We are committed to ensuring the substantial areas of open space on the site are accessible and will be enjoyed by the entire community, including for recreation, food growing spaces and children’s play.
“The plans will provide a significant biodiversity net gain by enhancing local wildlife habitats, creating jobs and additional spend in the array of local shops and services.”
After the consultation, all feedback will be analysed before the planning application is submitted to Solihull Council.

Plans will also be on show at a public exhibition on May 20 at Balsall Common Village Hall from 2pm until 6pm.
Residents can get in touch via email at [email protected] or by calling the Community Information Line via 0333 358 0502 (Monday to Friday – 9am to 5:30pm).
