HAUNTING footage has been released showing a hooded man before a Solihull woman was callously shot in her own home.

Police have released the CCTV in the hope the public can identify the man they want to speak to after the 51-year-old was shot yesterday morning (December 18).

The man, covered in a hood and wearing a high visibility jacket, strides up to the doorstep of a house with his head down – appearing to be clutching something in his pocket.

The woman suffered gunshot wounds to her shoulder and hand in Dovehouse Lane, Solihull, at around 8.30am.

She was taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

Detective inspector Stuart Bell from force CID said: “Investigations remain underway today to establish the circumstances around what happened and at this stage we do believe this to be a targeted attack but the motive remains unclear.

“However, we can confirm that nothing was taken.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who was in and around the area between 8.30-9am particularly drivers who may have dash-cam footage.

“Local officers continue to patrol the area to offer reassurance to residents and the wider community.

“We are determined to catch whoever was responsible and a dedicated team of detectives are working on the case.

“I would urge anyone with information that could assist us to make contact as soon as possible.”
