Harry’z Young Starz Awards: Deadline approaching for Charity Award

Solihull Editorial 11th Sep, 2017   0

THE DEADLINE for nominations in the Charity Award category in the Observer-supported Harry’z Young Starz Awards is looming.

This month Help Harry Help Others is looking for the special youngster who has had a significant impact on any charitable organisation – this could either be monies raised or a personal contribution to help an organisation.

So far five devoted youngsters have been handed the Selfless, Young Carer, Community, Best Friend and Bravery Awards.

On each occasion Harry’s mum and founder of Help Harry Help Others, Georgie Moseley, along with a member from sponsors Hogarths Hotel, have surprised the winners when they least expected it.

The awards – for which nominations are now open – celebrate amazing and inspirational young people.

They were launched in 2014 by Georgie Moseley, proud mother of the inspirational Sheldon schoolboy Harry Moseley, who selflessly raised over £750,000 through his legendary bracelet campaign before passing away aged eleven.

However, they were put on ice for two years as Help Harry Help Others opened a Drop In Cancer Centre in 2015 and the charity renovated a patient’s house last year.

But now the awards are back and set to celebrate inspirational children – with the support of The Observer and the help of Hogarths Hotel in Dorridge.

Each month an award will be handed out for one of the eight categories.

The winners from each category will be invited to an Awards Ceremony at Hogarths Hotel and Restaurant in December where one lucky winner will receive the coveted Harry’z Young Star Award.

Nominees must be under the age of 18, be able to demonstrate how they have gone above and beyond and be available to attend an awards dinner in December.

Entries after the closing date for each category will not be considered.

This month is the turn of the Charity Award.

The award celebrates an individual who has had a significant impact on any charitable organisation.

This is not just about monies raised but also their contribution to a good cause.

The deadline is September 30 – any applications received after this date for the Charity Award will not be considered.

If you know someone who fits this category, or any of the others, nominate them by emailing [email protected] or call 0121 783 5407 to request an application form.
