A NEWLY refurbished GP surgery in Hampton in Arden has reopened its doors this week.

The Hampton Surgery on Fentham Hall, Marsh Lane, unveiled its new and improved facilities this week, which will benefit thousands of patients.

Mayor of Solihull, Coun Mike Robinson, opened the building which was financed by funds through an NHS Infrastructure bid and local charity the George Fentham Trust.

Patients will now benefit from a new larger waiting room and reception area, a refurbished disabled toilet and improved disability access.

A new consulting room has also been added to the surgery to support the ongoing work of a fragility worker, who takes a holistic approach to managing the care of the frail and elderly.

Dr Rodger Charlton, from Hampton Surgery, said: “We are delighted to be opening these fantastic new facilities which will help to transform the patient experience at the surgery.

“We would especially like to thank the George Fentham Trust for the fantastic financial support they have given to the project.”

John Doidge, Patient Participation Group member and representative of the Hampton Parish Council and vice chair of Hampton Society, added: “I am absolutely thrilled to see the new facilities and waiting area, it is a big improvement.

“The reception area is a lot more comfortable for patients whilst waiting for their appointment and where the reception desk is now it means that reception staff and patients can have more discreet conversations.”
