A HALL GREEN man has been jailed for 15 years for raping a woman in Birmingham.
Abdullah Alnamer, of Stadium Road, took advantage of a woman in the early hours in January 2022.
The woman – who was in her early 20s – had separated from friends following a night out in the city centre where he then approached her, and tried to entice her into his vehicle.
West Midlands Police said Alnamer took advantage of the woman after following her in his car, encouraging her to join him, and the next morning she was found to have been sexually assaulted.
The force added Alnamer then sold the vehicle used in the crime two days later.
The 35-year-old was arrested last March and was charged with rape.
Alnamer pleaded not guilty but following a trial he was convicted at Birmingham Crown Court.
He was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
