Hall Green crash car had failed to stop for police

A VEHICLE involved in a serious crash in Hall Green on Monday (July 27) which left a teenage girl fighting for her life failed to stop for a police patrol unit moments before the accident – it has been revealed.

The BMW was spotted driving at speed, but failed to stop the a patrol car which flashed its blue lights.

Shortly afterwards the car had veered off the road and crashed into a tree on the Stratford Road near the junction of Highfield Road – leaving the 14-year-old girl fighting for her life with serious head, chest and leg injuries.

She is still receiving treatment at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.




A 19-year-old woman also suffered multiple injuries in the crash while the teenage driver and a woman in her 40s were also hurt.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “The car was seen driving at speed and a police vehicle illuminated blue lights but the car sped off out of sight.


“The vehicle was discovered crashed a short distance away.”
