FESTIVE sounds are set to fill the Church of the Ascension in Hall Green on November 26.
The Hall Green Choral Society are getting ready to perform a selection of familiar Christmas Carols including Silent Night, In the Bleak Midwinter, The Angel Gabriel, Once in royal David’s city and Ding, dong merrily on high.
From 7.30pm they will also be performing John Rutter’s Christmas Lullaby and Candlelight Carol and Bob Chilcott’s The Sparrows Carol.
There will also be a short carol medley Swing a Christmas Carol (arranged by Mac Huff) which features soprano soloist Catherine Mason and includes jazzed up arrangements of God Rest You, Merry Gentlemen, What Child Is This? and Deck The Hall With Boughs Of Holly.
Catherine will also put some icing on the cake with some Christmas solos which include Mel Torme’s Chesnuts Roasting On An Open Fire and Harry Connick’s When My Heart Finds Christmas.
Clive Jones conducts with Darren Hogg accompanying on organ and piano.
