FINAL REHEARSALS are under way for the Hall Green Choral Society summer concert.
The concert, being held at the Church of the Ascension on School Road in Hall Green, feature a selection of folk songs in arrangements by John Rutter from his collection The Sprig of Thyme.
From 7.30pm on June 25 Catherine Mason, soprano, will be singing a number of solos including the beautiful Pie Jesu from Malcolm Archer’s Requiem and I believe in Springtime, an original song by Rutter.
The concert will also feature Gabriel Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine and A Whiter Shade of Pale by Bob Chilcott.
The Queen’s Platinum jubilee is not forgotten as the audience will be invited to join in singing Rule Britannia, I vow to thee my country and Land of hope and glory.
Clive Jones conducts with Andrew Burling accompanying on organ and piano.
