A GUIDING stalwart has been has the prestigious Gold Voyage Award for her dedication to the organisation.
Janice was surprised at The Priory Bupa Care Home by friends from the Solihull Trefoil Guild, who visited the home to present her with the honour.
The Gold Voyage Award is a personal challenge that takes over 12 months to complete and celebrates outstanding commitment to the guiding community.
Janice has been involved in Girlguiding since childhood, starting as a Brownie and Guide before earning her leadership qualification.
She now serves as vice president for Warwickshire Girl Guides and remains an active member of the Solihull Trefoil Guild.
She received her 60-year service award in 2023.
Janice said: “I was absolutely thrilled to see my friends and receive the award. It was such a special surprise and a wonderful way to celebrate all the years I’ve spent doing what I love.”
Fellow resident Jeanette, also a former Girl Guide, joined the celebration and shared fond memories with Janice and the visiting group.
