IT’S all systems go for the GlastonBeoley Music Festival 2021 this weekend – July 31 and August 1 – at the Portway home of Birmingham Solihull RFC.

There’s bags of enthusiasm for the event and it promises to be a great weekend of brilliant music.

GlastonBeoley has also donated 300 adult weekend passes to the NHS; they’ve been distributed to the Alex in Redditch, the Queen Elizabeth, Good Hope, Solihull Hospital and Heartlands.

“We were delighted to hand these over to the relevant hospitals, who are distributing them out to all their key workers, just as a very small thank-you to all to those who’ve gone above and beyond, as they always do,” said Jackie Kain from GlastonBeoley.

Festival director Debbie Joynes, who also doubles as one half of the band Lampshade, added: “We understand people’s anxieties over coronavirus and that’s why, even with restrictions being lifted, we have gone through a Covid secure risk assessment and we will still be encouraging people to socially distance.

“We want festival-goers to enjoy themselves safely while at the same time listening to some great music and raising lots of money for local charities into the bargain.”

All profits go to charity and this year’s event is backed by Knights Pharmacy.

A packed programme of music over the Saturday and Sunday has already been arranged and other attractions include Caribbean cuisine, a hog roast, burgers and two bars as well as fun for children.
